Randy to the Rescue

       In case you didn't know - I had the wonderful oppurtunity to buy my dress with the professional guidance of Randy Fenoli on his new TLC show "Randy to the Rescue" - to premiere this summer. Yes this summer, that means BEFORE my wedding. EEEK!

Myself, Randy Fenoli, Sister & Mom Post filming for "Randy to the Rescue"
       Michelle, my fabulous consultant e-mailed me the link to a promo of the video with us in it! YAY! Now the clip is rather long for an average clip, but if you fast forward to about 2:08 you will see blonde haired little me, and my dad "Turtleneck"! Unfortunately, I can't embed the video, but here is the link:
http://www.the33tv.com/videogallery/68317135/News/Randy-Fenoli-from -

My fabulous fiance there in the background for the filming! {No he did not see the dress :-P}
I have a few blog posts in the making, but if you are interested in more photos and details check out my Moms Blog: Farm Life Lessons
She has 4 Posts with details from her perspective {And she is a wonderful writer!}
  1. Day 1 of "Randy to the Rescue"

Browsing dresses they had on display - each rack was a different designer

     2.   Day 2 of "Randy to the Rescue" - Wrapping up filming- or so we thought

Getting their "Before" shot of me prior to purchasing my dream dress! No pressure with everyone huddled around the camera staring lol
      3.   2nd round of filming "Randy to the Rescue" -the "booster package"
      4.   Part 2 of round 2 for filming "Randy to the Rescue" - note my mom had major dental work prior to this booster package so sadly she was not able to fully partake in the filming, but enjoy the photos!

Where the booster package filming took place -Henry's parent's new farm! {Henry keeps correcting me since I keep mistakenly calling it a "ranch" like their place in Hico was - apparently there is a difference - this is a "farm", not a "ranch" - well Paaaaardon me! hmph! lol}

 More details regarding our experience from my point of view to follow! :-)

Wedding Inspired Wednesday {No. 5} DIY Wedding Projects

          I love DIY Projects! I like being able to look at a piece of art, decoration, furniture & know my hard work, my own two hands, made that. I want my wedding to be the same way. I want to walk into that venue & see my hard work put together - I want people to know that this wedding was truly about Henry & myself, not what a florist or wedding designer came up with & put together for us. SO - here are some DIY wedding projects I have found browsing various blogs & of course, Follow Me on Pinterest.

        One blog I have recently become a huge fan of is The Bride's Cafe - The author of the blog, Janie, is one talented lady & I never cease to find something inspiring! She has a wonderful page for DIY Projects & her DIY - Escort Card Box is one of those projects I can't wait to put my own spin on!
DIY - Escort Card Box - this set up is perfect for our wedding theme! Anyone could put a spin on it though - replace the moss with a simple bed of flowers for a spring wedding, sand and seashells for a beach wedding, fake snow or a bed of white glitter for a winter wedding - the options are endless with just a little imagination!
         Another wonderful DIY project idea from her blog - DIY - Mossy Monogram.

Now this isn't the quickest DIY - it will take a bit of effort & patience, but I think will be well worth it in the long run for the craft-loving Brides who want their own special touches added to their wedding day.
        Another wonderful wedding blog is Project Wedding - this blog has a TON of DIY ideas to be inspired by. The one I chose to re-post is the Semi-DIY Pocket Fold Wedding Invitation I found via Pinterest!
I  plan on doing my own invites for the wedding, so tutorials like this are helpful. She even provides a helpful website to buy well priced pre-made pocket envelopes http://www.cardsandpockets.com/.
If you are a local DIY Bride looking to make your own invites -or any part of your event stationary - another helpful place to go to is Paper Planet! What is Paper Planet? A crafty girls mini-heaven! You can buy hand-crafted rolls of paper - way cheaper than Hobby Lobby or Michaels with BEAUTIFUL original options! - You can even put in orders for more of your favorites if they don't have the full amount you need. They have envelopes of all sizes & colors, 8 x 11 pages of all colors & textures, weekend How-To classes - including a wedding invitation how-to class! - & one of the best things of all....they have a large work table & a wonderfully large paper-cutter for cutting those large sheets of paper you may have just bought that you can rent out for $25/4 hrs!!! That's a pretty sweet deal to me! Even if you aren't the crafty bride or person, well they have pretty crafty employees that can design any part of your stationary for any event from the simplest pieces to doing everything! It's worth it just to go look even if you don't intend to buy. Their website is currently being revamped, but you can also check out their Facebook page: Paper Planet Facebook
A photo of a wall in Paper Planet's store with large sheets of the custom hand-crafted paper! Photo courtesy of the Paper Planet website! :-)
          I hope these few DIY projects are enough to get your crafty-engines going! Be sure to check out those blogs for even MORE ideas. They are truly amazing - and well written! :-) Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

A video clip from a wedding at Double Creek Crossing by Cinema Candy
        We were so excited to book Cinema Candy! Our alcohol bill came back $1,000 cheaper (Yea if you know us, it is probably hard to believe it came back $1,000 cheaper and not $1,000 over lol) We hadn't budgeted for a videographer and were having major regrets from what we heard from others - so when we stumbled upon Cinema Candy at the Bridal Show we handed over our credit card without hesitation and booked them! So excited!!! :-)

Rentals/Wedding Planner/Wedding Coordinator:
Lacey Baze with Details

Wedding assisted by Details at Double Creek Crossing

Caterer:
Buppy's
Finally booked the caterer at the show too! We are excited to have Buppys cater our rehearsal dinner and reception dinner - they are phenomenol with fabulous food choices. We will have a split menu to cater to our theme of "City Girl Meets Country Boy" - Pecan Crusted Fried Chicken vs. Grilled Salmon with sides to match! Can't wait!

Alcohol:
JJ's
Luke with JJ's will be helping us provide our specialty cocktail served in Mason Jars - Pumpkin Mojito

Cake:
Cinderella Stories

Photo "booth":
MyLivePhotos
We loved this concept because you can fit more people into the shot! Its a backdrop with a flat screen TV facing you to see, either you can click the hand held clicker to snap photos or the attendant can, then there is also a flat screen facing the party so they can see what you are doing - while photos aren't being taken, the ones already taken are on a slide-show mode. Photos are then made available immediately online that night for direct downloading. Props and different color backdrops available :-)

So there you go! Of course floral and stationary will be done by myself and fabulous family/friends - so stay tuned for those as they begin falling into place. <3

Oh the Joys of Life!

        Boy was this a fun filled weekend! My lovely Fiance and I had the pleasure of seeing, "The Vow" --> LOVED! However, while trying to enjoy our wonderful Friday night movie date a blocked number was calling & I received a few texts from a website that allows you to text semi-anonymously. How rude! What was even more rude were what the texts said - Please read below:

Well old friend - if youve never been to my "retarded" blog - how do you indeed know it is retarded? And how do you know it is so much like hers?

Oh I also brush my teeth, get myself dressed, and carry a purse - does that mean I copy her on that too? Really? I am sorry but there are A LOT of people who craft and blog - HELLO HAVE YOU NOT SEEN PINTEREST? LOL Good lord. I guess Audra has just invented everything - all on her own! You go girl!

I think you old friend are the one who needs to do the moving on - its been over 3 YEARS - come on now.

For being my old friend - you sure don't know me very well - for not meeting Audra - you know her TOO WELL....CREEPY!

It is obviously killing you to know that not only are WE happy, but they possibly are too. You must be very alone old friend.

The continuation of my text response, "...her' and bc you got my number."

"...you are?"
         Some people just can't move on. Unfortunately, the IP address in all the messages is the actual senders IP address - if the old friend could read - so after basic tracking, we have narrowed down the person.

         Henry and I have been having discussions regarding babies a lot recently {more like the past year} - seeing as how we will be married in October and want a fall baby, we will begin trying for our first little gremlin late December - early Janurary :-) Can't wait! - I truly hope that we raise our kids to know better than to pull stunts like this. I mean if I knew my daughter was reflecting the way I raised her by sending bullying text messages like this to someone I would have a heart-attack! This shows this {girl} has absolutely no class, no manners, and is purely bored with her own life, so she must fill it with the joys of others - but instead of being happy for others, she must fill her void by trying to bring them down. Pity.
         Luckily, my fabulous mom raised me better than this. I feel sorry for the {girl} who feels she must treat others this way. I hope your void is filled soon so you, yourself can live a happy life - rather than try to tear others down.
         Another great thing - this has caused Henry and I to reminisce on some of the most fabulous parts of our relationship + more to come - like our BAD-A HONEYMOON. We have spent countless hours laughing and joking {if you have seen SNL you will get this - said in dramatic voice} "Don't make me love you! - You're making me love you!" - It was also rather comforting at our Bridal Show to have numerous vendors tell us how cute we were, how sweet he was to me, how in love we are- At dinner we had someone ask us how we seemed to be so in love, what did we do? Every time he walked by we were smiling ear to ear, etc. I don't need some {girl} telling ME how I feel about MY FIANCE. I know. I didn't settle. I moved on and found something better. Much better. I found a MAN - my Texas man: the hunting, fishing, cooking, non-cheating, non-abusive, sweet, goofy, intelligent, FAMILY loving MAN. Not only did I find a great man, I found a wonderful man with a "sane" family that is composed of some of the most goofy, generous, selfless people God has put on this earth. I am blessed - I don't need anyone telling me "who I am" - I know, my friends know, my family knows. That is all that matters.

Wedding Inspired Wednesday {No. 4} Our Wedding Inventory

          Our wedding inventory is slowly growing & boy is it exciting! Here is the list of items we have recently purchased from Save-On-Crafts. This is one of the best sites ever for a crafty bride trying to save money!

Natural Jute Fiber Ribbon 1.5" width 25 yds $9 - We will be using this to wrap around mason jars filled with candles.

14.5" Basswood Tree slices, ~1" thick. These will be used in centerpieces & as a cake stand. I bought a few to play around with, but the majority will be coming from an actual white oak trees from my parents acreage in Livingston, TX. It'll be nice to have a home-made natural touch at our wedding, courtesy of my parents.

Cedar Wood Roses - I mentioned in a previous blog that I do not want a lot of real flowers, so I thought these 2" wide wood roses would be a nice touch.

This is an example of how the Cedar Wood Roses, tree slabs & Jute Ribbon will be used.

Cotton Stalks - Now I know we have plenty of cotton farmers around us that we could get free cotton from, but that is a ways away. I wanted to get some on hand to play around with ahead of time, so I went ahead and bought some. These will be used in centerpieces, bouquets & boutonnieres.

Natural Touch Hen & Chicks - the deep burgundy color of these will be perfect to add to centerpieces & bouquets! I have also seen centerpieces where these were just set on the table directly amongst burlap & mason jars filled with candles.

Last on our list for this order is the 20" tall, 7" wide Aspen yellow golden queen flower - This beautiful golden fall flower will give a wonderful pop of color amongst all the tan, brown, & white colors we will currently be using.

         I can not wait until it all arrives so I can begin to put things together and get a real idea how it will look at the wedding! Yippee! Photos will definitely be added as I experiment with arrangements. Stay tuned! <3

Our Love Story Link Up!

I am linking up for the first time! Thanks to Taylor at "Goings on in Texas.." - The link up originated from "From Mrs. to Momma" and will continue until Valentines Day! <3

Link up button:

Taken Ladies {There is a Single Ladies version if you click the button above :-)}

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
We met 2/26/2012 & have literally been attached at the hip ever since - sooo coming up on 3 years! However, our engagement anniversary is 4/24/2010 - so going on two years of engagement here shortly! WHOOP!
2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
We met one fateful night on the infamous College Station, TX Northgate!! Henry saw an old friend & myself dancing dreadfully at Daisy Dukes just as my friend slipped & busted her butt! As we drunkenly (yes I know how classy & romantic - we were in college, just turned 21, stop judging. :-P haha)....drunkenly stumbled over to the carpool line (aka volunteer organization of sober students who drive drunk students home) where Henry just happened to stumble over to also!! He saw my friend & immediately said, "Hey! You're the girl who ate it!" Then he plopped down next to me on a concrete bench behind the Dixie Chicken & started up a conversation. An hour + later after laughing & talking like old friends, Henry whipped out his phone & asked for my name - not my number. Odd? Followed by, "Ill find you on Facebook!" lol Next morning = friend request from Henry - talked via FB for a week, met up at my roommates party the next Friday, hit it off wonderfully & were attached at the hips from then on! The love story continues....
3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
I hope to marry him, & grow old & wrinkly with him too!! We are currently talking about being 80 years old, one of us in the hospital & sneaking out or playing chess lol Literally, as I type this, he is talking. haha
4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?  If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
Getting married October 13, 2012  - We are getting married at Double Creek Crossing in Caldwell, TX - perfectly in between both families! We hope to have ~150 guests.
5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
Not any serious ones - we aren't the "sweetie" "honey" "baby" kind of couple & if I put our joking ones, you'd think we hated each other. So - nah, no nicknames :-D
6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
He is honest - brutally honest I might add
He is my true Country Boy - aka fishing/hunting/four-wheeling/bonfire/truck loving country boy
He has the same strong passion to explore & understand other cultures as much as I do!
7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
Well this is a long one - sorry! haha
Henry had planned to propose to me on April 23, 2010 due to my favorite number being 23 and I always make a big deal anytime anything is 23. Sadly, I was in the hospital that night & all his long hard planning had to be post-poned. Saturday, my girlfriends & I had plans to get ready together for a thing called "Ring Dance". After getting our hair done Danni told me she wanted to go take pictures by the Dixie Chicken where a friend recently had gorgeous bridal portraits done. I thought taking photos was a brilliant idea because I am really big into scrapbooking. Danni, Lauryn, & I finished our make-up & getting ready at Danni's while my mom, dad, sister, Trevor, Henry, & Cody all waited patiently.
Henry & I rode separate from everyone & pulled up behind northgate. I texted Danni, "Okay right now, while we are out taking photos would be perfect for a proposal! Friends, Family, all dolled up. Gah!" She replied, "I know :( I'm sure he will plan something amazing!" I said to her, "I know, but I want a ring now lol".
Everyone had beat us there & were waiting behind the Dixie Chicken. As Henry & I walk up, some guy is leaning against his car texting & looks as if he is waiting for someone. We go off to the side & start hugging while what I thought was everyone else discussing where they wanted to take photos first. Henry & I have a habit of keeping each other very entertained, even when in a big group, & spend a lot of time talking to each other. haha Henry said he loved me, & I said I loved him too, Henry then says "You know this is the spot where we met, right?", I smile & reply, "UH HUH, I love you so much!" gave him a kiss, he then began to get down on one knee. I immediately began shaking & tearing up. My friends later told me I had said, "No! No you aren't! No you aren't". I could not believe that what I had just been telling Danni, what I had dreamed of, was now becoming reality. Henry asked with the ring in his hand "Will you love me forever?". Without looking at the ring, both of us tearing up, I grabbed his face with a huge smile & said "YES" & pulled him up to give him a kiss. He then said with a smile, "Will you change your facebook status to engaged with me?" just like he had when we first started dating & put the ring on my finger. That is when I realized the odd guy texting was a photographer he had hired to take photos & everyone had already known the whole time that he was going to propose. To make things better, Henry's mom, dad, & two nieces came out from hiding, as well as friends Emily and Kristin. (They had been waiting since 6 pm for us to show, but since I didn't know anyone was waiting, we took our sweet time getting ready & they waited patiently in hiding hehe) It was a dream come true to have friends & family present, as well as a photographer to take amazing photos, in the exact spot where it all began.
8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberrieschampagne, and rose petals?
Seeing as how my fiance REFUSES to buy me flowers except on 3 rare occasions {he thinks it is a waste of money} he is more of the champagne, surprise massage/hotel, fancy dinner kind of guy.
9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
When I lived closer to the beach, I would prefer sunset picnic on the beach - but living in the middle of Texas has happily made me a movie-in/relax on the couch kind of girl :-)
10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
I would love to live in another country - preferrably in Europe! Learn a new language too - which we are learning Italian together! Yippee!
11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
On Valentines day we don't really have plans {other than opening a bottle of champagne & cooking together, which we LOVE doing} since it is a Tuesday & he works {boo} but we do plan on celebrating the following weekend with hopefully a fancy dinner to Christopher's World Grille in good 'ole College Station, TX!
12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
I would just like to have him home! He has been working in South Texas a lot during the week, so it would be nice to have him home - other than that, nope.
13. Give us one piece of advice on keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Honesty & always keep that kid mentality! You are never too old to watch cartoons, play board games & be goofy with each other! Favorite quote: "Anyone can be passionate, but it takes real lovers to be silly" - Rose Franken That quote pretty much sums it up perfectly.
14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.

Tell us your love story!! Link up here:

Feel free to leave a comment sharing your Love Story Link too!

{DIY Glitter Keys} Never Confuse Your Keys Again!

Here is a simple, fun DIY craft! This took me at most 10-15 minutes.

{Craft Reasoning}
I have a ton of silver keys on my keychain: 1} My house key 2} My parent's house key 3} Our garage door key 4} I am not quite sure where this key leads to HA!
Needless to say, this leads to a bit of fumbling around + trial & error at the front door. Not fun when your hands are full or you need to get the restroom STAT - which after my hour long commute home, is typically my reasoning for rushing inside - so here is my quick, easy, fun fix!

{Materials}
1} Mod Podge
2} Marth Stewart Ultra Fine Glitter - # of keys = # of glitter colors
3} Wax Paper for work surface
4} Paint Brush
5} KEYS!

{Steps}
1} Using the Mod Podge on the Mod Podge lid, I dabbed my paint brush in and painted on a thin coat onto the top part of my first key on both sides- careful to not get in the grooves that go into the key hole 2} After sprinkling a little bit of colored glitter onto my work surface I "dunked/dabbed" my key into the glitter pile - pressing the glitter onto the key with my finger to fill any holes & shaking off any excess  3} I then painted on a thin, THIN, layer of mod podge to kind of seal the glitter coat 4} I used my finger-nail to push on the mod podge/glitter mix to create a straight edge at the bottom 5} Set on wax paper to dry 6} Admire your beautiful, unique keys & smile knowing there will no longer be any confusion! Given you remember which color leads to which door :-P

{Photos of the Process}

{DONE & DONE! ENJOY!}
